Facebook says unsupported request mainly due to a bug or glitch in the app. This would mean you have to wait-out 12-24hours until the problem is fixed.
To check if Facebook is down, you can use a down detector to check its status.

The other cause for this could be Facebook app storage being full.
Clearing the app data storage would help solve the problem.
How to update Facebook
Before we move onto our solution, we check if our Facebook is up-to-date.
If your Facebook ain’t up-to-date simply;
- Go to the play store or AppStore.
- Search for Facebook in the search bar.
- Click on Facebook.
- Click on update.
- Wait a few seconds for it to download the update.
Now we can move on to our solutions.
How to fix “100 Unsupported Request Method Type Post” on Facebook
To fix “100 Unsupported Request Method Type Post” on Facebook, you can either clear Facebook app data or change your internet.
Alternatively you can login to Facebook in a different way or delete and reinstall Facebook if the two first solutions don’t solve the problem.
1. Delete Facebook’s Data Files.
Android
- Click on settings.
- Scroll down and look for apps.
- Tap on apps and then manage Apps.
- On search among apps bar, type on Facebook in search bar.
- Tap on Facebook.

Facebook app info will be displayed showing storage, data usage, battery, permissions, AutoStart, App permission and many more.
- Click on storage.
- Click on clear data.
The storage Facebook will display the total app storage, app size, user data, cache and clear data.

- Click on clear data at the bottom.
- Tap on clear all data( This will clear all Facebook’s data).
iOS Devices

- Click on settings.
- Tap on iPhone storage.
- Find Facebook among your apps.
- Click on Facebook.
The app will open to show app size, documents, and data, offload app and delete App.
- Click on offload App.
- Tap on offload app again to confirm.
Now you can open Facebook and check if the problem is fixed. If the problem is not solved move on to the second fix.
2. Change Your Internet
For this, connect to mobile data if you have a problem with WIFI and to WIFI if you have a problem with mobile data.
After changing your internet, open Facebook app and see if the problem is solved.
If the problem is not solved, continue to the next solution.
3. Log in to Facebook in a different way
- Enter Facebook app.
- Click on create a new Facebook account.
- Select Next.
The message will be displayed stating; “Allow Facebook to make and manage phone calls?, Allow or Deny”.
- Click Deny.
- Enter a random first and last name then click Next.
- Again choose a RANDOM date of birth and tap next.
- Select gender and tap next again.
- Click on signup with email address.
Write the email of your Facebook account that you are trying to enter.
After clicking on create a new account, we proceed with an email already linked to a Facebook account.
Since Facebook cannot create a new account here, it will automatically log you into your account.

4. Delete and Reinstall Facebook
To delete Facebook;
- Simply long tap on Facebook icon.
- On the two options displayed, click uninstall.
After deleting Facebook, we download Facebook again from the Appstore or Playstore depending on device you use.
- Click on playstore or appstore.
- Search for Facebook in the search bar.
- Tap on Facebook/Facebook Lite.
- Click install and wait until download is complete.
After downloading Facebook, check if the problem is solved.
